I cannot believe Fall is here. Summer has flown by I cannot believe Fall is here. Summer has flown by so fast! Hands down, this has been one of the best summers of my life. The crazy thing is I didn’t even leave the city of Chicago! I got to do so many activities I’ve always wanted to do and met some amazing people along the way. This year has been a roller coaster ride with more highs than lows. To be quite honest, even my lows weren’t lows. I’m telling you, those moments when God is silent get me every time. I sometimes get frustrated, disappointed, and impatient when I see nothing changing in my situation. I take God's silence as an invitation to "help" Him out, which always ends in disaster. However, God is so merciful that when I come to my senses and apologize, He shows me what He was working on during those silent moments. I’ll never forget sitting when I was in college, I’ll never forget sitting when I was in college, sitting in my business law class when my professor said, “ We don’t have any laws, but we have plenty of loopholes.” This statement left me feeling confused and frustrated. The whole purpose of a legal system is to receive justice. However, if those in power can’t discern right from wrong or allow loopholes to prevail, “How can you receive justice if the legal system fails you?” Never in a million years did I foresee that I would be able to get the answer to this question firsthand. For the past three years, I’ve literally found myself in the shoes of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-6. Despite having audio and video evidence, I’ve been going back and forth to court for almost three years to receive justice. When we look at an obituary or headstone, we often When we look at an obituary or headstone, we often look at the birthdate and date of death, but what about the dash? That dash is more than punctuation. That dash represents our life. The year my dad died (2004) was the same year that I graduated from college. I vowed that I would live a life of no regrets. Yet, inadvertently by not pursuing/or honing in on the talents God gave me left me with some regrets. To eliminate my regret and regain what I had lost by not utilizing my talent, I became more intentional with my time and energy by focusing on the right areas.
